SEN & Disabilities
At HPAPL we are an inclusive learning community with high aspirations for all our pupils. We aim to make sure through personalised learning that each child’s needs are addressed. Teachers are committed to meeting the needs of all our pupils and we have a strong team of additional learning support staff to draw on within the academy.
We have a number of specialist teachers to support early literacy and numeracy development working with a trained and skilled support team. Children joining us with little previous schooling or who are new to learning English are assessed on entry to Philip Lane so that their learning is tailored.
Our Special Education Needs Coordinator is Ms. Alison Berry who can be contacted by calling 020 808 3231 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our governor responsible for Special Education Needs and Disabilities is Ms. Susan Head can be contacted via email@example.com
We work closely with a wide range of more specialised services to bring additional expertise into the academy for those children who need a modified curriculum or an individualised programme. This includes the Haringey SEN team. To view the Haringey local offer click here: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/send . As an example, the local speech and language therapist works closely with our Early Years and Key Stage One Team to ensure early intervention secures accelerated progress for children in the Nursery and Reception Classes.
See the Philip Lane SEND information report for pupils requiring additional support in line with the new SEND code of practice. Our SEND policy is also attached.
We also run workshops and coffee morning for families of pupils with SEND. All families are welcome and dates can be found on our website calendar.
