Last half term Y2 looked closely at the artist Paul Cezanne and his fruit paintings. They then produced some amazing watercolour apples and oranges of their own! https://t.co/s0OF3iEZSf

Our students were inspired by our visit from (Jim Smith) last year. Lots of characters roaming around in our newly displayed ‘Barry Loser Town’. What do you think? https://t.co/xbHmZ4gWEZ

Friends of Philip Lane (FOPL)

FOPL is run by parents and carers to make sure there are lots of ways our families can meet each other and support the happy, inclusive atmosphere here at Philip Lane. Social and fund raising events organised by FOPL also help to provide those little extras to enhance our children's time at the academy.

We encourage our pupils, including the academy councillors to support the work of FOPL. That way, they can contribute to wider aspects of academy life and develop their creative planning and organisational skills. Events are advertised in the  monthly newsletter, by flyers, our text service and the calendar on this website.

It is vital that parents / carers involved to get involved via FOPL so we can run our annual events like the Winter Fare, Summer Barbeque, Monster Ball, Fun Run and Teddy Bears Picnic.

About once per half term, FOPL meet via Coffee Mornings to plan upcoming events. There are also small working groups who organise specific activities. The aim is for each class to have a FOPL parent / carer representative.

Currently the FOPL board consists of Chloe Zumeris (chair), Martha Parava (secretary) and Tina Suberg-Sethi (treasurer).

If you are interested in becoming involved in any way, FOPL can  be contacted on the following email address: funfopl@gmail.com

Please also feel free to approach any of the board members directly.

You can also find FOPL on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/349359151906367/
